The collection of contemporary art serves not just as an object filling the hotel, but also as an important part of its concept. The Alchemist Hotel continues one of the main lines of Ivanovo's development – the creation of a new point of attraction on the country's map, connected with heritage, traditions and modern culture.

The main feature of The Alchemist Hotel is its space, reminiscent of an art gallery with permanent exposition and temporary exhibitions, where restored vintage furniture pieces live next to the works of contemporary artists. Staying at the hotel at different times of the year, guests are unlikely to catch the collection of works as they remember it: every few months a part of the exposition changes and offers viewers new objects selected in cooperation with Russian art galleries.

Creating an art collection is a subtle, fluid, experimental process akin to alchemy. When we started putting the collection together, our main goal was to create a space that would inspire and evoke emotion in everyone who stays here. We aimed to present a variety of styles and techniques that reflect the zeitgeist and current themes.

The art objects were selected from the collections of Marina Gisich Gallery, ART4 Museum and 3L Gallery, as well as from the collections of independent artists. Some objects were created especially for the the hotel space, such as «Babets» by Danila Polyakov and a deck of Tarot cards by Yulia Borissova. From colorful abstractions to delicate graphic works, each painting and sculpture tells its own story and invites you to reflect.

We are proud to offer our guests a unique experience that goes beyond traditional hotel service.

The catalog features works from The Alchemist’s permanent exhibition, which you can see in the lobby, restaurant, library, rooms and other public areas of the hotel.
